All-Clad Cookware Guides
All-Clad D3, D5, Copper Core, and HA1 explained: which line to buy, whether it is worth it, oven limits, and care.
All-Clad, line by line
All-Clad is known for bonded (clad) stainless cookware. Capital Cookware carries the main lines, and our guides explain how they differ so you can buy the right pieces rather than the most expensive ones.
- D3 (tri-ply): stainless, aluminum, stainless. Quick, responsive and the best value.
- D5 (5-ply): alternating stainless and aluminum layers. Steadier and more forgiving.
- Copper Core (5-ply): a copper center for the fastest response, with a copper band visible at the rim.
- HA1: hard anodized aluminum with a nonstick coating and a bonded stainless base for induction.
Per Capital Cookware's listings, D3, D5 and Copper Core are oven safe to 600°F and induction compatible; HA1 is oven safe to 500°F, with glass lids to 350°F.

Mix and match
You don't have to commit to one line. Many cooks buy D5 fry and sauce pans, a D3 stock pot and one HA1 nonstick pan. Capital Cookware's build-a-custom-set page and our Set Builder make that easy.
